What is arrhythmia?

Irregular heartbeats are called arrhythmias. It occurs when there is a defect in the signalling pathway of the heart. The electrical signals that pass through different areas of the heart are not coordinated in these cases. This causes the heart to beat irregularly. Arrhythmias can be fatal and even life-threatening in some cases. Once interrupted, the signalling pathways can also lead to bradycardia and tachycardia.

Types of Arrhythmias:

Following are the three basic types of arrhythmias depending upon the nature and speed of the heartbeat.

  1. Tachycardia:

Tachycardia occurs when the resting heart rate increases by 100 beats per minute. Irregular heartbeats can also sometimes accompany tachycardia.

Increased heart rate after vigorous exercise is usually not an anomaly of the heart.

  1. Bradycardia:

Bradycardia occurs when the resting heart rate decreases by 60 beats per minute or less.

Some physically fit people can naturally have slow heart rates. They should visit their physician to diagnose whether it is bradycardia or not.

  1. Premature or extra heartbeat:

It occurs when the beat signal is sent too early. A pause results from this, and when your heart resumes its usual rhythm, the beat becomes stronger. It may seem as though your heart has stopped beating. This form of arrhythmia is typical and can lead to other types of arrhythmias.

Prevention from arrhythmias:

Several lifestyle changes and habits can help you prevent arrhythmia and also in its early diagnosis. These include:

  • Daily exercise
  • Quit smoking
  • Blood pressure maintenance at normal
  • Eat Healthy food
  • Control blood cholesterol level
  • Maintain follow-up care

How Veyetals can help in preventing arrhythmias or their early diagnosis:

Veyetals is a newly designed and high-demand app used these days to measure heart rate, blood pressure, stress level, and oxygen saturation with no difference from the medical instruments.

All the vitals that Veyetals measures are somehow related to arrhythmias in one way or another. Like, blood pressure is associated with an increased risk for atrial fibrillation, a type of arrhythmia.

In the same way, heart rate increases, decrease or become irregular with the arrhythmias.

Oxygen saturation, on the other hand, is associated with arrhythmia. Because when oxygen saturation decreases, the load on the heart increases, and this causes an increase in the heart rate.

  • Veyetals measures all these signs or early symptoms of cardiac arrhythmia regularly.
  • Veyetals warns you about any increase or decrease in the vital signs of the body.
  • A record is maintained.
  • Veyetals also offers a meeting with physicians to track your health.
